Simple ways to add colour to your summer wardrobe

Wearing colour can be intimidating for some people who like sticking to neutrals. However sometimes it can be a good idea to step out of your comfort zone and try and add colour to your wardrobe, especially during the summer time.

So here are a few simple ways you can add a little colour to your wardrobe this summer.

1. Colourful statement piece

This is probably the simplest way to add a very small hint of colour to your basic pieces. Statement necklaces or jewellery are great ways to elevate your outfit and when they are brightly coloured they add hints of colour without being too bold.

2. Floral

Florals are great for summer and they can be worn with neutrals to help tone down the bold prints. Try and look for neutral colours within the floral print when pairing an outfit. For more information on how to wear florals and bold prints check out my last post:

3. Pastels

Pastel colours are not very bold most of the time therefore they can be easy to style and wear for people not to comfortable with wearing colour. They also look great paired with whites and nude colours.

4.Pop of colour

Add a pop of colour to a natural outfit. This can be achieved with any accessory such as a scarf or shoes or even a brightly coloured handbag.

5. Bold lips

Bold lipstick is a great statement piece to an outfit especially a bold red lip. Its eye catching and easy to pull off. When pairing it with a monochrome outfit it can look very classy and sophisticated.

6. One piece

A colourful one piece can be very easy to style and wear. Not much thought needs to go into pairing it with other large pieces. You can stick to neutral jewellery and accessories.
